Chip’s hair was gone five days later, on Friday, and he was sporting a freshly shaved bald head; he had raised more than $300,000 for the hospital through social media.

During the couple’s Breaking New Ground: Expanding the Silos special, the mother of five revealed that she plans to honour Chip with a tattoo of his favourite number, 16, to remember him by.

While touring the grounds of the Silos, Joanna said, “We decided to name Chip’s shop No. 16. It’s his favorite number. Anything we get of his now, his undies, his white T-shirts, we put No. 16 in it. It’s a thing.”

It’s also the number on the Magnolia co founders’ children’s jerseys. “It’s a family number,” explained Joanna.

Did Chip Gaines Commit Suicide?

One amazing aspect of Chip and Joanna is that they are masters of social media. With their network’s debut on linear TV, more people have been able to watch their Fixer Upper reboot. Magnolia’s official Instagram page shares episode clips, and one in particular featured Chip explaining an accident.

Chip was working on a property he had purchased with the intention of flipping it. The minor accident occurred when he began doing the dirty work. Chip appeared to be fine soon after, and thankfully it was not a deep cut from which he would not be able to recover.
