Claire Stoermer and Kazembe Ajamu, both teachers, gave birth to Zendaya. She began performing at a young age in Oakland, California, where she studied hula with the Academy of Hawaiian Arts and danced with the hip-hop dance troupe Future Shock Oakland. She continued her education at Orinda’s Cal Shakes Conservatory Program, San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater, and Oakland’s Oakland School for the Arts. While at the latter, Zendaya appeared in several stage productions, including Once on This Island at the Berkeley Playhouse and Caroline, or Change at Palo Alto’s TheaterWorks. Her other stage credits include William Shakespeare’s Richard III, Twelfth Night, and As You Like It. She also modelled, appeared in commercials, and sang in a Kidz Bop video.

Coleman is Zendaya’s sister. She has previously stated her respect for her older sisters. “I look up to my big sister and realise the influence she’s had on me and making me a better person,” she told Time in a 2015 interview. “Having such a big, grounded family, I realised how important that is as you get older.” Her adorable nieces and nephews, as well as her immediate family, ground her.” “Honestly, I think about my little nieces and my little nephews first,” she told Complex in 2015. “Because one day they’re going to have Twitter and they’re going to have Instagram, and I’m going to be like, ‘This is how you handle it, kids.’”

Annabella Stoermer Coleman

While Zendaya’s exact number of nieces and nephews is unknown, she did mention in a 2019 Vogue profile that she was picking up one of her sister’s two daughters from school. She not only helps where she can, but she also teaches the children important life skills.

Julien Stoermer Coleman

Zendaya has a brother named Julien who goes by the moniker “EZ”. He, like his siblings, does not have a public Instagram page, so little is known about him. Fans are aware that EZ is married to Sonja, with whom he has three children, the oldest of whom is Ezenia (“Zink”). Zink is a year Zendaya’s senior, and the two appear to have been best friends since birth.

Kaylee Stoermer Coleman

Kaylee is Zendaya’s younger sister and the youngest of the family. While she has previously appeared on the red carpet with her A-list sister, it is unclear how close she is to Zendaya.
