When Giuliana Rancic battled breast cancer in 2011, she kept the message close to her heart and by her bedside. However, the fashion designer is taking stock of her experience and appreciating how far she has gone ten years after beating the illness. 

“My biggest self-discovery after cancer and treatment was realising I was stronger than I had thought I was,” Giuliana shared with E! News in an exclusive interview. “I love knowing that I have come out of that experience a stronger woman.”

“I wish I knew how many other survivors and women battling breast cancer there were,” she said. “I also wish I knew how desperately the medical field needs to receive the support to continue the work they do to find a life-saving cure.”

Zendaya wore synthetic dreadlocks to the Oscars in February 2015, and Rancic said that the hair appeared to smell like “patchouli and cannabis,” prompting criticism. On July 10, 2015, Rancic made the decision to leave her role as co-anchor on E! News after almost ten years, but she will continue to host Fashion Police. On September 4, 2018, the character took over as anchor once more.

Rancic made the announcement that she would be departing her role as Live from the Red Carpet co-host after 20 years in May 2021. E! revealed that Laverne Cox would succeed Rancic as anchor of Live from the Red Carpet in the following month.

What Is Giuliana Rancic Doing Now?

Rancic, who was born in Naples, Italy, moved to the US when she was seven years old together with her family. Rancic attended Walt Whitman High School, where she was a cheerleader, and her father was a tailor who ran a shop in the neighbouring White Flint Mall.

At age 21, she underwent surgery to treat her scoliosis. She earned a journalism bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a journalism master’s degree from American University. She covered government-related issues for a Capitol Hill news organisation at the time. Rancic also obtained her acting and modelling degree from Barbizon. She lives in both Los Angeles and Chicago and is a co-anchor of E! News.
