Who is Claudine Gay?
Claudine Gay is now the 30th president of Harvard University, starting on July 1, 2024. She’s the very first Black president and the second woman to lead the university in its 368-year history.
Before becoming president, Gay worked as a political scientist and academic administrator. For five years, she was the Edgerley Family Dean of Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She also was the dean of social science from 2015 to 2018.
