What are Instagram Reels?
With Reels, you can make entertaining videos to share with your friends or the entire Instagram community. Create and edit 15-second videos with audio, effects, and innovative tools. You can share your reels with your followers on your Feed and, if your account is public, expose them to a wider audience through a new section in Explore.
The Reels feature in Explore provides everyone with an opportunity to become an Instagram creator and connect with new audiences globally. The Reels Explore Feed is Instagram Reels’ equivalent of the For You page. It can be accessed through the Explore Page on Instagram. Rather than solely displaying Reels from the accounts you follow while browsing, you’ll also be presented with Reels from popular and trending accounts on the platform.
How to create Instagram reels?
To create a reel on Instagram, tap on the Reels option at the bottom of the camera screen. On the left side of your screen, you’ll find a range of creative editing tools, which include:
Audio
- Browse the Instagram music library to choose a song for your reel or use your own original audio. If you use original audio and share it publicly, you’ll receive credit for it, and others can use it by selecting “Use Audio” from your reel.
AR Effects
- Select an effect from our extensive effect gallery, created by both Instagram and creators from all over the world, to record clips with different effects.
Timer and Countdown
- Use the timer to record hands-free clips. After pressing the record button, you’ll see a 3-2-1 countdown before the recording starts for the time you set.
Align
- Align objects from your previous clip before recording the next one to create seamless transitions, especially for outfit changes or adding new friends.
Speed
- Adjust the speed of your video or audio by slowing it down or speeding it up. This feature is useful for staying on a beat or creating slow-motion videos.
How to use Instagram Reels for Business?
Here are three approaches to incorporating Instagram Reels into your marketing strategy:
- Produce content that is genuine and relatable to your audience. Instagram Reels provide a quick, entertaining method for generating distinctive content with unique effects. This offers an excellent opportunity for businesses to display a more personable side of their brand.
- Share educational material. Utilize Reels to educate your followers about something new. Teach them how to save money, style their outfit in multiple ways, or capture the perfect shot.
- Display your products and services. Increase brand recognition and drive sales by showcasing what you have to offer through Reels.
How to Share Instagram Reels?
Reels offers you the opportunity to share your videos with your followers while also being discovered by the vast and diverse Instagram community through Explore.
For Public Accounts
- You can showcase your reel in a special section of Explore, increasing its chances of being viewed and discovered by a wider audience. Additionally, you can share your reel with your followers by posting it to your Feed. When you use specific songs, hashtags, or effects in your reels, they may also appear on dedicated pages when someone clicks on that particular song, hashtag, or effect.
For Private Accounts
- Reels operate according to your Instagram privacy settings. You can share your reel with your followers by posting it to your Feed, limiting its visibility to only your followers. Other users will not be able to use your original audio from your reels, nor can they share your reels with those who don’t follow you.
