Interior Design Masters was BBC Two  TV Contest for the best Interior designer in the UK it was started on 2019 August 14th  by DSP (Darlow Smithson Productions). The show follows a group of aspiring interior designers as they compete in a variety of challenges to win a life-changing design contract and a cash prize. The contestants are judged by industry experts on their design skills, creativity, and ability to work under pressure. The show is Hosted by comedian and presenter Fearne Cotton, this show challenges contestants to take on a variety of design challenges and impress a panel of expert judges, including design industry icons Michelle Ogundehin and Elle Decoration, as the series judge. And accompanied by weekly guest judges such as  Mary Portas, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Sophie Robinson, Matthew Williamson, Abigail Ahern, Naomi Cleaver, Thomasina Miers, and Jade Jagger. With high-stakes challenges, and stunning transformations. The season was an 8-part Episode. As for the availability of the show online, “Interior Design Masters” can be streamed on Netflix in some regions. It is also available for purchase on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV. However, availability may vary depending on your location and the streaming services available in your region. Now currently Season 4 is running on BBC One from February 7 with Alan Carr hosting the show with the same series judge and different weekly guest judges. And series 5 2024 is already in the pre-production phase.

Interior Design Masters Season 1 contestants where are they now?

Interior Design masters season 1 has 10 contestants who come from various professions by studies and some of them started getting into it for passion and the art of “Ability to have the subjective estimation of which material, furniture, design, color, hue, saturation, & Lighting blend to form an ideal and pleasant interior design for the suitable environment or given place ” Most people don’t have the Subjective estimation ability for various parameters like above mentioned ones to give equal importance like a Radar chart/ Web chart plots so that their design cannot be seen as lacking in any one of them. Likewise, contestants are amateurs or freshers lacking that super instinct subjective estimation which can be gained via only experience. Let’s see if all the contestants whether they gained anything from participating in the show.

Cassie Nicholas

Cassie Nicholas won the title and contract for life-changing interior design for series one she is running a business called Decorative Antique since 2010 with her husband edd she also does the same along with brand and product photography and some interior design consultation and sourcing of antique products for their customers. the brick and mortar store has been closed since 2018 even before her participation in the show. now they sell antique items only online the store’s name is called Dig Haüshizzle. since she won the contest she started the cassie nicholas studio for interior design and branding photography in the year 2019 since she has done some consulting work in the area of interior design and branding photography.

Frank Newbold 

Frank Newbold was the second runner-up in the BBC Interior Design masters. His profession is visual arts engagement/merchandising before joining the show. He worked in the Fully interiors for a period of one year from 2017- 2018 as an interior stylist where he worked with both agents and clients directly in aiding the marketing of the company sales. So it was a fast-paced job. After completing the show, he started his own company named Frank bold which was set up in Brighton. Where he does the freelance job of interior stylist for both houses and commercial spaces as per the need of his clients. Currently, his website is in the protected mode so only prior customers can visit his site. We also don’t know the exact location of the company office other than Brighton in the UK.

Ju De Paula 

Ju De Paula is third place in the overall series and was Brazilian by descent and later moved to the UK in 2005 where she started working for big company projects like Armani casa, Natuzzi, and Designers guild. She has also done exclusive residential projects like Mayfair Knightsbridge and Marylebone. In the year 2015 she had her interior design company called Blueberry Living & co since then she helped her customers choose the right colors for the house environment that was too within their expected budget. She also had a design school called Blomming home society which was opened in 2015 it was a design school for stay-at-home mothers who can learn about color and its proper usage at their own pace and redecorate their homes for their needs. Both them were big parts of her life before taking the journey of interior design master show on BBC after the show she naturally continued to do the same.

Nicki Bamford-Bowes

She was a Graphic Designer by profession and she started working in the field in 2013 she then decided to start her own company in 2017 called and then they went wild which was based in southeast London and gives services in Interior & Furniture Design and Techincal services such as

Kyle Broughton-Frew

Kyle Broughton who was South African by birth, later on, moved into the UK Council estate in Bolton. When he was a child because of the surrounding he got inspired by gardening and he loved going to B&Q the largest DIY Retail franchise in the UK. Even though he had much passion he did not pursue interior design as a carrier instead he became an estate agent, in his mid-twenties, he rekindled his passion and went to education and he completed Interior Design Architecture at Birmingham City University, in his final year of project where he had to do brick-to-brick renovation of  5 bedroom detached property project, which he completed in 6 months. As soon as he completed his degree he got the opportunity to join the interior design Masters’s show. After the show, he worked for a small design studio for the company called Cream & Brownie Lichfields midlands of the UK.  After working for one year he started his own company called KBF Design & Co on the outskirts of Birmingham Sutton Coldfield. Since then he had learned communication is the key factor in the interior design business if the customer or client does not get the value usage of that design and thinks about why he/she needs to pay for it and thinks unambiguously of a design then it is our duty to explain them to make a better design for them. The company’s main package products are, designed in one day, full room design, and design management.

Jerome Gardener

We don’t know exactly what he is doing now. But he was interviewed by a local Nottingham Blind design company called Luna Blinds. In that interview, his word of advice get involved, assist, believe in yourself, and up-skill. He does maintain an active Instagram page where posts about his design at regular intervals.

Verity Coleman

She started her carrier as a British army officer in 2010 and worked with the British army till 2013. after 2013 she quit the army and started a company called Rascal and Roses the company gives design services including interior design, color consultation, and window dressings. The company is located in the city center of Hereford, King street. On a hiatus she participated in the show BBC interior design masters after the show she continued with her work and later on, she got joined BIID (British Institute of Interior Design) in 2020, and next year 2022 June, she became the director of that institute now she is currently multitasking with her own business and director of BIID.

Terian Tilston

Terian Tilston was a child with a creative mind. She had all the flare for interior design but instead, she pursued a career in Law and studied at the University of Dundee instead of interior design. She became a litigation solicitor for six years starting in 2011. After her mother died in 2018 it broke her mental health and her house become crazy. So, she ventured into redesigning her house with virtually no budget she brought the idea and started the company called Terian Tilston Interior Design in 2019. The main reason was to bring a positive vibe to life. After the show, she is still running the business the company has Inspire Me with Consultation and Transformation packages and E- Designs flexible plans for its customers.

Trish Coggans 

Trish Coggans started her company in 2016 called Outshine Interiors which gives consulting and other related services in interior design. Currently, the website is looking like a Phishing website so we don’t know what is she doing now. If we were to include the age factor she is 54 at the time of the show. Now she is currently 57. So we don’t know whether she quit or retired peacefully.

Jim Biddulph 

Jim Bidduph was a student of Design and arts from Westminster university in 2007 he started working as the material Lab editor where had done a lot of research in material and color and started doing freelance writing in design-related magazines and has done a lot of courses in the major university in the part-time. In 2010 he started a company called Jim Biddulph Studio which gives consulting advice in material, color, and spaces i.e interior he also hosts podcasts with design-related topics currently he had hosted one podcast on the topic called in the music with the institute studios director the podcast show name is in the making.
