Kantara: A Legend, also known as Kantara, is an Indian Kannada-language action thriller film released in 2022. Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, the film was produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. The story follows the conflict between a Kambala champion played by Shetty and an honest forest officer played by Kishore. The film was shot in Keradi, a coastal town in Karnataka, and filming began in August 2021. The film’s production design was handled by debutant Dharani Gange Putra, while the cinematography was done by Arvind S. Kashyap and the music was composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. Action sequences were choreographed by Vikram More.

The film was released on September 30, 2022, to both critical and commercial success. Rishab Shetty delivers a stunning performance as Shiva, perfectly portraying his emotions throughout the film. The fight sequences and climax portions are mind-blowing. The first half of the film is captivating, with a fast-paced screenplay that never drags.
