Her coverage spanned a vast area, stretching from Torres Strait to the mining community of Mount Isa and extending to the picturesque Whitsunday island chain. Millar’s next chapter took her to the Federal Press Gallery in Canberra, where she worked for the ABC, including during the 1996 Federal Election campaign that saw John Howard become Prime Minister.

Returning to her home state of Queensland, Lisa became ABC’s state political reporter, capturing the rise of Pauline Hanson and her party, One Nation.
