Marina is excited to be living in the DMV area and reporting to your communities, although she’s not as thrilled about the cold due to being from Miami (but she’s a proud Gator!). Her TV career started in college at the University of Florida, where she took a semester off during her junior year to intern and serve as a news assistant at NY1 in New York City, where her passion for politics grew as she covered the state senate coup in Albany. It was then that Marina decided to double major in Telecommunications and Political Science. During her last semester at UF, the earthquake in Haiti occurred, and Marina reported the trial gavel-to-gavel for Univision Network, as well as the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa. Marina took a job at WESH-TV just as the George Zimmerman trial was about to begin in Sanford, where she covered parts of the trial.
