Despite achieving great success and fame after winning the song contest in 1967 with “Puppet on a String,” Sandie claims that Jeff left her and their daughter penniless just a year later by squandering her money to support his struggling career. After one of the most acrimonious separations in the entertainment industry, Sandie and Jeff did not speak for many decades. In a recent interview on the podcast “Person of Interest,” hosted by Tom Watson, former deputy leader of the Labour Party, Sandie stated, “I was completely lost. I couldn’t understand why I had got myself into that situation.”

In 1968, Sandie tied the knot with fashion designer Jeff Banks in London, and the couple welcomed their daughter Gracie in 1971. Unfortunately, their marriage ended in 1978. Sandie then married Nik Powell, a co-founder of the Virgin Group and chairman of the European Film Academy, in 1982. During their union, they had two children, Jack and Amie, before their divorce in 1995. Lastly, Sandie married psychologist Tony Bedford and became his wife.
