Muhammad Johan Ghazali Zulfikar, also known as ‘JoJo,’ is a talented young Muay Thai fighter from Malaysia. He represents Rentap Muaythai Gym and has gained significant attention in the Muay Thai community. In February 2024, Johan made his debut at One Championship, a prominent Muay Thai event held at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. During this match, he amazed the audience by knocking out his opponent in a remarkable 16 seconds, leaving everyone stunned.
As a result of his outstanding performance, Johan was awarded a performance bonus of 350,000 baht. More recently, Johan made headlines again for knocking out an opponent who had been taunting him. Using a classic left hook-right hand combination, Johan displayed a remarkable presence of mind, tactical skills, and a calm demeanor, leading to a successful outcome in the match.
Johan’s achievements extend beyond this particular match. In 2022, he secured the title in the 14-15 category (under 60kg) at the IFMA World Youth Muay Thai Championship. Standing at 5 feet 6 inches tall, Johan has an impressive 100% finish rate in his fights, and his average bout duration is approximately 3 minutes and 56 seconds. These statistics highlight his skill and potential, particularly considering he is still at the beginning of his career.
Johan Ghazali was born on November 11, 2007, in Sarawak, Malaysia. His parents are Jennana Johnson and Zulfikar Muhammad Ghazali. According to The Borneo Post, Jennana was born in 1979, while Zulfikar was born in 1976. Unfortunately, there is limited information available about their upbringing and how they met and got married, as they prefer to keep their private life secret.
Jennana and Zulfikar have four children together, three boys, and one girl. Interestingly, all three boys have become Muay Thai fighters, possibly influenced by their parents’ active involvement in the sport during their younger years. Johnson started practicing Muay Thai when she was 16 years old.
Details about the Muay Thai careers of Jennana and Zulfikar are not publicly known. However, their dedication and support for their children’s training and development in Muay Thai are evident. Johnson, in particular, devotes a significant amount of her time to the boys’ training and encourages them to excel in the sport. Zulfikar, on the other hand, manages to balance his work and personal life while being present for his children.
Johnson’s support for her children’s Muay Thai endeavors is demonstrated by her words shared with Twentytw013: “Muay Thai is physically demanding and tough, and I know not everyone can do it. I began fighting at the age of 16, so I know what it is like. I understand their sacrifices.”
Johan Ghazali, the talented Muay Thai competitor, is currently 16 years old. Born on November 11, 2007, Johan is still in his teenage years, but he has already made a significant impact in the world of combat sports. Despite his young age, Johan possesses remarkable skill and determination, showcasing his abilities in various competitions.
As a 15-year-old athlete, Johan has impressed both spectators and opponents with his agility, technique, and mental fortitude. His dedication to training and passion for Muay Thai has propelled him to achieve notable victories, demonstrating his potential for a successful career in the sport. While Johan is still in the early stages of his journey, his accomplishments thus far have laid a solid foundation for his future endeavors.
With his youth on his side, Johan has ample time to continue developing his skills, refining his technique, and reaching new heights in his chosen discipline. As he navigates the world of Muay Thai, Johan’s age becomes an advantage, allowing him to absorb knowledge, gain experience, and learn from seasoned professionals in the field.
The potential for growth and improvement is vast, and Johan’s age serves as a reminder that his journey is only beginning. As the years progress, it will be fascinating to witness Johan’s evolution as a martial artist and observe how his skills mature alongside his age. With his talent, determination, and youthfulness, Johan Ghazali holds great promise as a rising star in the realm of Muay Thai.

All four siblings attend SMK St. Thomas Secondary School in Kuching, Malaysia, where they continue their education. Elias, the eldest brother, has achieved remarkable success in his own right.
He won a gold medal at the IFMA Asian Championships in 2019 and was honored with the prestigious Spirit of Muay Thai Special Award in the same year, showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. Johan, too, has an impressive track record. He previously secured bronze medals in the IFMA Bangkok competitions held in 2017 and 2018.
