All-female groups from the Korean pop or K-pop industry are known as K-Pop girl groups. Interesting themes, catchy lyrics, point-choreography, and creative graphics have made Korean girl groups extremely successful. S.E.S., Fin.K.L, and Baby Vox were among the first generation of Korean girl groups to gain popularity in the late 1990s. Girls’ Generation, Kara, Wonder Girls, 2NE1, 4Minute, Sistar, Miss A, Girl’s Day, Apink, and other second-generation groups rose to prominence starting in 2003. The third-generation groups debuted in 2012 and are currently controlling the Korean music industry. Blackpink, Twice, Red Velvet, GFriend, Mamamoo, I.O.I., Everglow, EXID, oh!GG, Itzy, and others are some of the K-Pop girl groups.

1. Gfriend

Gfriend debuted in 2015 under the group Source Music. They were one of the few groups that began with 6 members and have continued with this number. They are currently one of the most active Kpop groups. And have even won a number of awards.  EP Season of Glass was their debut song. They were also the first Kpop to be interviewed for Grammy Mini Masterclass

Members – Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji.

2. Apink

Apink debuted in 2019 under the group Play M Entertainment. They began with originally 7 members, though now they have only 6 members in their group rendering them first for 6 member girl Kpop groups. They are currently one of the most active Kpop groups. And have even won a number of awards.   Seven Springs of Apink was their debut extended play. Their fandom is called the Pink Panda

Members –  Park Cho-rong, Yoon Bo-mi, Jeong Eun-ji, Son Na-eun, Kim Nam-joo and Oh Ha-young.

3. Momoland

Momoland debuted in 2016 under the group MLD Entertainment . They began with originally 7 members, though now they have only 6 members in their group rendering them first for 6 member girl Kpop groups. They are currently one of the most active Kpop groups. And have even won a number of awards.    Welcome to Momoland was their debut mini album. 

Members – Ahin, Hyebin, Jane, JooE, Nancy and Nayun.

4. April

April debuted in 2015 under the group DSP Media.. They were one of the few groups that began with 6 members and have continued with this number. They are currently one of the most active Kpop groups. And have even won a number of awards. Dream Candy was their title track. Their fandom is called the Fineapple

Members –  Chaekyung, Chaewon, Naeun, Yena, Rachel and Jinsol.

5. DreamNote

DreamNote debuted in 2018 under the group iMe KOREA. They began with originally 8 members, though now they have only 6 members in their group rendering them first for 6 member girl Kpop groups. They are currently one of the most active Kpop groups. And have even won a number of awards.   Dreamlike was their debut album.

Members – Sumin, Eunjo, Lara, Miso, Youi and Boni.

6. Favorite

Favorite debuted in 2017 under the group Astory Entertainment. They were one of the few groups that began with 6 members and have continued with this number. They are currently one of the most active Kpop groups. And have even won a number of awards. My Favorite was their debut extended play.

Members – Saebom, Seoyeon, Gaeul, Sugyeong, Jeonghee, Ahra

7. A.DE

A.DE debuted in 2016 under the group 2ABLE. They began with originally 7 members, though now they have only 6 members in their group rendering them first for 6 member girl Kpop groups. The group is not currently active as they disbanded in 2017 when one of the members left the group.During their active years they won a number of awards.

Members – Suyeon, Yeorin, Jiseo, Rachel, Haeyoung, and Miso.

8. Ariaz

Ariaz debuted in 2019 under the group Rising Star. They were one of the few groups that began with 6 members and have continued with this number. The group is currently active. They have won a number of awards.  EP Grand Opera was their debut performance

Members – Jueun, Sihyeon, Yunji, Dawon, Yeori, Hyogyeong

9. Everglow

Everglow debuted in 2019 under the group Yuehua. They were one of the few groups that began with 6 members and have continued with this number.  The group is currently active. They have won a number of awards.  Arrival of Everglow was their debut album

Members – E:U, Sihyeon, Mia, Onda, Aisha, and Yiren

10. G-IDLE

G-IDLE debuted in 2018 under the group Cube Entertainment. They were one of the few groups that began with 6 members and have continued with this number.  The group is currently active. They have won a number of awards. They also debuted as a Jpop under the name U-Cube. Their debut was  Latata both as Kpop and as Jpop

Members – Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua.

11. Rocket Punch

Rocket Punch debuted in 2019 under the group Woollim Entertainment.  They were one of the few groups that began with 6 members and have continued with this number.  The group is currently active. They have won a number of awards The group is not currently active as they disbanded in 2017 when one of the members left the group. Pink Punch was their debut extended play

12. After School

After School debuted in 2009 under the group Pledis Entertainment. They began with originally 5 members, but later  acquired a new member making their band 6 members. The group is not currently active though there is no news of whether they disbanded or not. During their active years they won a number of awards. They debuted with AH.

13. Hello Venus

Hello Venus debuted in 2012 under the group Tricell Media.  They were one of the few groups that began with 6 members and have continued with this number. The group is not currently active as they disbanded in 2018 .During their active years they won a number of awards. Their fandom name was Hello Cupid. 

Members –  Lime, Yeoreum, Alice, Yooyoung, Seoyoung, Nara

14. PIXY

PIXY is a fairly new Kpop group that debuted in 2017 under the group Allart Entertainment. They were one of the few groups that began with 6 members and have continued with this number. Tier fandom name Winxy and they debuted with their single Wings

Members – Ella, Lola, Satbyeol, Dia, Sua, Dajeong

15. Bling Bling

Bling Bling debuted in 2020 under the group Major9. They began with originally 6 members, and have continued to be a 6 member group. Their debut single album is G.B.B

Members – Yubin, Jieun, Ayamy, Marin, Juhyun and Narin
