The 54-year-old singer and songwriter passed away on January 12, 2024, after being rushed to a hospital in Southern California. The medical examiner’s report stated that the obstruction was a result of adhesions that developed after bariatric surgery that Presley had undergone years ago. This complication is a known long-term issue associated with such weight loss procedures.
The autopsy report also mentioned that Presley had “therapeutic levels” of oxycodone, a pain reliever, in her blood, along with trace amounts of other substances. However, these substances were not deemed to have contributed to her death. Presley had been experiencing abdominal pain in the months leading up to her passing and on the day of her death.
