Marilyn Monroe passed away on August 5, 1962, in Los Angeles. According to reports, her housekeeper found her lifeless and naked in bed. The police arrived at the scene and took her body to a mortuary for an autopsy. Despite the fact that some rumors have circulated that Marilyn’s body was abandoned in the morgue for hours or even went missing, there is no solid evidence to support this claim.
Funeral director Allan Abbott, who handled Monroe’s funeral arrangements, wrote that when the morticians uncovered her body, she was “almost unrecognizable.” Her death had caused facial swelling and blood to rush to her head, making her appearance significantly altered. To mitigate this, the morticians performed surgery to reduce the swelling.
Eventually, Marilyn’s body was claimed by her ex-husband, famous baseball player Joe DiMaggio, with whom she was still close. Her funeral was held a few days later, with around 30 of her friends and family in attendance. She was buried in a green Emilio Pucci dress, holding a bouquet of pink roses.
Over the years, rumors have swirled that Marilyn’s body went missing after she died. Some have suggested that nobody could find the body for up to ten hours on the day of her death. However, Dr. Thomas Noguchi, who carried out the autopsy on Monroe, claimed that samples taken for the toxicology report were “destroyed.”
Despite these rumors, there is no proof that Marilyn’s body went missing, and there has been no official confirmation on the matter. Until further evidence emerges, the claim remains unsubstantiated.
The world-famous Marilyn Monroe struggled to cope with the attention and scrutiny that came with her fame. She had a troubled personal life, marked by the breakdown of her marriages to Joe DiMaggio and playwright Arthur Miller, and became addicted to barbiturates, a type of anti-anxiety medication.
In the end, Marilyn Monroe died at the age of 36 from a drug overdose. Her death was ruled as a probable suicide, although there is speculation over whether it was an accidental overdose. Despite her passing, Marilyn remains one of the most iconic and enduring figures in Hollywood history.
Marilyn Monroe, born as Norma Jeane Mortenson in 1926, had a difficult childhood marked by poverty and several foster homes. She married at 16 and continued to work various jobs before eventually becoming a successful model. In 1946, she signed her first film contract and quickly rose to fame as a Hollywood actress, starring in several iconic films such as “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and “Some Like It Hot.” Despite her fame and success, Monroe struggled with personal and emotional issues throughout her life. She passed away in 1962 at the age of 36.
