Flexible Scheduling in the NFL
For the 2024 NFL season, flexible scheduling will be in place for Sunday Night Football between Weeks 5-10 and at the discretion of the NFL during Weeks 11-17. Additionally, Monday Night Football scheduling may be adjusted at the NFL’s discretion from Weeks 12-17. This flexibility allows for exciting matchups to be featured in prime time slots.
During the flexible scheduling windows, games initially set for Sunday Night Football on NBC and Monday Night Football on ESPN or ABC are subject to change. Only Sunday afternoon games or those listed as TBD are eligible to be moved to Sunday night or Monday night slots. In such cases, the originally scheduled Sunday/Monday night game would be rescheduled to Sunday afternoon.
Games scheduled for Sunday afternoons may also be shifted between 1:00 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. or 4:25 p.m. ET to accommodate the flexible scheduling format. In Week 18, the final weekend of the season, the scheduling of games on Saturday, Sunday afternoon, and Sunday night is not predetermined. Two games will be played on Saturday, with the remaining games on Sunday afternoon and one matchup on Sunday night.
