Despite being marketed as Kim’s “fairytale wedding,” the couple filed for divorce on October 31, 2011. After a lengthy legal battle, they reached a settlement, which was finalized on June 3, 2013.
Following the divorce, Kris has largely retreated from the spotlight and is currently living a low-key life in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he is involved in various business ventures. Kris played college basketball for the Minnesota Golden Gophers at the University of Minnesota and went on to have a 13-year career in the NBA, playing for teams such as the Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks, and Brooklyn Nets. He signed with the Philadelphia 76ers on September 25, 2017, but was released less than a month later.
After retiring from professional basketball, Kris Humphries ventured into the business world. In 2018, he became a franchise partner for Crisp & Green and launched a number of Five Guys restaurants in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Recently, Kris and his family have signed a deal to open 10 new branches of the Los Angeles-based restaurant chain, Dave’s Hot Chicken, in the Twin Cities and neighboring areas.
“My family and I were thrilled at the idea of bringing an exciting brand like Dave’s Hot Chicken to our home in the Twin Cities,” said Kris in a press release from the company. After conducting a thorough review, sampling the product, and meeting with the brand’s leadership, we realized that this was an opportunity we couldn’t miss. We’re looking forward to seeing how the brand develops in the Twin Cities.”
Kris Humphries is not married to anyone now. As of now, there is no evidence that Kris is married or dating anyone. Kris Humphries was born to Debra and William Humphries in Minnesota. His father was a University of Minnesota football player and he is of half African-American descent from his father. He grew up with two older sisters named Krystal and Kaela.
Kris Humphries doesn’t have kids. Humphries’ initial success in sports came from competitive swimming, in which he was the nation’s top 10-year-old in six events, outdoing young Michael Phelps in the remaining events. He held the US national record for the 50-meter freestyle for boys aged 10 and under for 18 years, until it was recently surpassed. However, at the age of 12, he decided to pursue a basketball career and gave up swimming.
Kris Humphries was selected by the Utah Jazz as the 14th overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft. He played for the Jazz for two seasons, averaging 3.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 4.8 minutes per game. On June 8, 2006, Humphries was traded, along with Robert Whaley, to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Rafael Araújo. During the 2006-2007 season, Humphries initially struggled to receive playing time from coach Sam Mitchell but later proved himself to be an effective rebounder and energetic player. He helped the Raptors win their first division title that season.
On March 28, 2007, he had a game-high and career-high seven offensive rebounds in 27 minutes against the Miami Heat. He then followed up with nine offensive and 18 total rebounds in a win against the Detroit Pistons on April 13, 2007, both of which were game and career-highs.
