Throughout their marriage, they experienced the joys and challenges that come with building a family together. Their union brought forth the blessings of parenthood, as Lorraine and Ike lovingly raised two remarkable children, Ike Turner Jr. and Michael Turner.
As devoted parents, they embarked on the journey of nurturing and supporting their children, instilling in them values, and guiding them toward their own paths in life. Lorraine Taylor’s role as a mother was integral to creating a nurturing and loving environment for their children, shaping their lives with love, care, and support. Lorraine Taylor gained recognition following her marriage to Ike Turner, becoming one among several wives of the late musician. During their marital years, Lorraine and Ike were blessed with two endearing children, Ike Turner Jr. and Michael Turner. However, in 1979, Lorraine and Ike decided to separate. It was then that Tina Turner, after marrying Ike, lovingly adopted Ike Jr. and Michael, raising them as her own.
Tragically, reports suggest that Lorraine Turner took her own life in the bathroom, driven by suspicions of an affair between Ike and Anna Mae. While Ike had multiple marriages, it was Tina Turner who garnered significant media attention. Despite their tumultuous personal lives, Tina and Ike made significant contributions to the world of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Tina flourished in her career, achieving remarkable success and maintaining a prominent position in the industry.
Throughout the 1980s, Tina Turner was recognized with six Grammy Awards out of her total of eight. Her musical achievements during the decade included a dozen Top 40 hits such as “Typical Male,” “The Best,” “Private Dancer,” and “Better Be Good to Me.” Notably, her performance in Rio de Janeiro in 1988 drew an astounding audience of 180,000, making it one of the largest concert gatherings for a solo artist.
As of 2024, Lorraine Taylor has not been accessible through media channels. After her separation from Ike Turner, she reportedly lost contact with the media and has remained out of the public eye. There have been no appearances by Lorraine at events or involvement in any projects. Lorraine Taylor’s late husband, Turner, was known for his multiple marriages throughout his life. He entered into his first marriage with Edna Dean Stewart on 10 April 1948 when he was just 16 years old. Following this, he married Velma Davis after meeting her at the Cotton Club on Camplin Avenue in Mississippi. After his divorce from Davis, Turner entered into a union with Rosa Lee Sane. In 1952, he married Marion Louis Lee, but their marriage ended in divorce in 1955. Subsequently, Turner entered into relationships with his girlfriends Alice Bell and Annie Mae Wilson.
In 1962, Turner tied the knot with Anna Bullock, famously known as Tina Turner, in Tijuana. Tina is one of the few wives of Ike Turner who gained media popularity.
