None of the members have passed away. They are all still alive and will continue to be so for many decades to come. Yoongi just underwent surgery, but it was not life threatening, and he is recovering well and will return after his shoulder has healed. A member of BTS did not commit suicide, but a member of SSHIne did. They all came to his burial because he was a good friend of theirs.
Jonghyun rented an apartment for two days in December 2017 in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam District, southern Seoul. He checked in at 12:00 p.m. KST on December 18, 2017. Later that day, at 4:42 p.m., Jonghyun’s older sister, Kim So-dam, called 911 to report that she believed he was about to commit suicide after he sent her a series of KakaoTalk messages that included terms like “last goodbye” and “say I did well.” He was last seen at a convenience store near the apartment.
South Korean boy band BTS said that singer Jonghyun’s death was so shocking. Following the loss of SHINee vocalist Jonghyun in December, BTS members RM and Suga discussed Jonghyun’s suicide in the February 17 issue of Billboard.
None of the BTS members are dead. They are having a healthy life right now, and are very focused on their career. This is just a rumor that you have heard and the beautiful truth is they are all alive.

Bangtan Boys, or BTS, is a South Korean boy band that was formed in 2010 and made their debut in 2013 under the Big Hit Entertainment label. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are a septet who co-write and co-produce much of their own songs. After starting off as a hip hop group, their musical approach has evolved to include a wide range of genres. They sing about mental health, adolescent troubles and coming of age, grief, the fight to accept oneself, and individualism in their songs, which are typically centred on personal and social commentary. Their work frequently incorporates connections to literary and psychological issues, as well as an alternate universe plot.

Jonghyun debuted as a solo artist in January 2015, with the release of Base, his first EP album. Both the Billboard World Album Chart and the Gaon Album Chart had it at number one. On September 17 of the same year, Jonghyun released Story Op.1, a compilation album. She Is, his first studio album, was published on May 24, 2016, followed by Story Op.2, his second compilation album, on April 24, 2017. On October 2, 2015, Jonghyun launched his first solo concert tour, The Story by Jonghyun. This was followed by three further musical tours in the years that followed. He was recognised as one of South Korea’s top vocalists. He was also praised for his artistic control and participation in the composition of his music, both of which are uncommon in K-pop.
Jonghyun continued to perform as a solo artist and as the primary vocalist of Shinee until his death on December 18, 2017, when he died of carbon monoxide overdose. His final album, Poet / Artist, was released posthumously on January 23, 2018. Prior to the album’s release, it was stated that Jonghyun’s mother would get all album proceeds and use them to establish a charity organisation. Jonghyun’s family created the Shiny Foundation in September 2018 to assist struggling young artists.
Jonghyun was discovered unconscious in his rented residence by police and rescue workers around 6:10 p.m. In a state of cardiac arrest, he was rushed to Konkuk University Hospital. He was given CPR in an emergency situation. He did not regain consciousness, and at 6:32 p.m., he was pronounced dead at the hospital, aged 27. When they arrived at the residence, they discovered coal briquettes burned on a frying pan, leading investigators to suspect he died from inhaling toxic fumes or smoke. A post-mortem would not be performed at the request of Jonghyun’s family, therefore the authorities declared his death a potential suicide.
Jonghyun’s funeral commenced on December 19 in the afternoon at the funeral hall at Asan Medical Center in Pungnam-dong, Seoul. BTS, IU, BoA, Girls’ Generation, and Exo were among the celebrities and fans that attended the three-day public funeral. People from all across the world also paid their respects to the artist. Jonghyun was taken from the hospital to a private funeral attended only by his family and close friends on December 21, and was then buried in an undisclosed location.

Several news sites linked Jonghyun’s death to depression. Following Jonghyun’s death, Nine9 of the band Dear Cloud revealed Jonghyun’s suicide note on Instagram, which he had given to her two or three days before his December 9 concert. His troubles with popularity and a “devouring” despair were mentioned in the note. The note scared Nine9, and her agency instructed her to keep in touch with Jonghyun. She tried to help him, but it merely “delayed” rather than “prevented” his death.
