Paris Hilton was born in New York, both of her parents were socialites and famous personalities. Her father Richard Hilton was a businessman and her mother Kathy Hilton was a child actress. She was the eldest of four children.
The Hiltons moved around quite a lot, to places like Beverly Hills and Hamptons. Paris herself was described as a tomboy, whose first dream was to be a veterinarian. A teenager Hilton was then often referred to as a rebel – she was sneaking out to parties, breaking curfews, and enjoying your young years.
Paris Hilton started her modeling career as a child with the help of her mother Kathy. Her parents also helped her to get on the lists of some of the most exclusive events in New York City, and she soon developed a reputation as a socialite akin to that of her parents.
Hilton achieved international recognition in 2003 when along with another socialite, Nicole Richie, she participated in The Simple Life, a reality series on Fox where the socialites lived in a rural community in Arkansas. Right before the series was released, Hilton’s sex tape was leaked to the public, and the show’s views were bolstered as a consequence.
In 2005, she became a hostess on NBC’s Saturday Night Life, and the same year she secured her first major role in a film called House of Wax. The same year The Simple Life was cancelled, but Hilton’s popularity has already taken off.
Paris Hilton’s personal life can be hardly dubbed personal, as her romantic and social relationships have often been scrutinized publicly. It all started with rumors of her dating Leonardo DiCaprio. Hilton later dismissed these rumors as untrue in her interview for Vanity Fair.
Perhaps one of the most well-known scandals surrounding Hilton is the release of her sex tape in 2003. It featured Hilton with her ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon. Salomon later filed a lawsuit against the company that released the tape, as well as against the Hilton family for defamation.
As it turned out, the Hilton family was accusing Salomon of influencing Hilton to agree and record the sex tape, which Salomon rejected. The lawsuit was unsuccessful – in fact, Salomon had to pay Hilton’s family a fixed amount plus a percentage of the sales profits. Hilton herself later claimed that she never made money from this tape and that she only makes money in other, “nice” ways.
In 2019, she started dating Carter Reum, a businessman and socialite. Two years later she got engaged to Reum and then married him in Los Angeles. The couple has a son and a daughter born via surrogacy.
Hilton is also an avid advocate for social justice. She often participated in fundraising events for children’s hospitals and orphanages.
As she shared during one of her interviews, Paris Hilton believes everything is going digital. Being a heiress of a major hotel chain, she didn’t get into crypto just to build up wealth but out of belief in crypto. She has been trading crypto for more than 6 years.
While not disclosing what share of her investments are cryptocurrencies, she told the interviewer that she started investing in Bitcoin and Ether in 2016. This was when bitcoin was worth approximately $1000. She later told The Guardian that she first invested in Ether after becoming friends with the founders of Ethereum.
Despite the recent ‘dip’ in the cryptocurrency market, Hilton still believes crypto is the future. She shared that her current strategy is to buy digital currency and wait for new developments. Hilton is a big fan of using cryptocurrency as an alternative method of payment and it’s understandable why she, along with other celebrities is so big on crypto.
Nowadays, you can use crypto for anything – whether it’s shopping, playing games, or gambling. With the latter, crypto casinos allow users to deposit, wager, and withdraw via various coins. Ignition Crypto Casino stands out as a platform that features increased privacy, faster transactions, and lower fees, as compared to traditional online casinos. On the platform, gamblers engage in traditional casino games, such as poker, slots, and blackjack, with the assistance of safe, secure, and anonymous crypto transactions.
Yet, modern-day crypto gambling platforms are not just about using digital currencies for transactions; they’re leveraging blockchain technology to provide provably fair gambling experiences – a concept that was barely imaginable a decade ago.
Considering this, it is reasonable for celebrities like Hilton to endorse and invest in cryptocurrencies, as we might see more celebrity-supported crypto platforms in the future – designed not only for gambling, shopping, and other everyday activities, but also for innovation, technology, and digital finance as a whole.
Hilton isn’t just interested in trading but has recently gotten into non-fungible tokens (NFT). She created her first NFT back in 2019 and sold it a year later for a charitable purpose, for which she was later recognized.
In 2021, Hilton launched her own NFT collection worth $1.1 million in ether. She both owns and buys NFTs, saying that as of now she owns more than 150 NFTs. But creating NFTs isn’t only a commercial transaction for Hilton – she shared that it has a certain therapeutic and artistic value for her. She then went as far as saying that NFT is the future of art.
When asked about plans with NFT, Paris Hilton wants to use NFT to tell her story – with both pretty and ugly sides of her past, being not just a trader and creator but also a social advocate. “I am using my platform for good and social change” – she adds.
Her next big project is to bring NFTs to the world of digital wearables, merging NFT and digital fashion in the Paris Hilton universe.
